About the Journal
Indonesian Journal of Waqf Studies is a peer-review journal published biannually by Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal focuses on developing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary waqf studies, from normative, historical, juridical, economic, social, and public policy perspectives. This journal aims to serve as an academic forum for researchers, lecturers, practitioners, regulators, and waqf observers to publish research findings, conceptual thinking, and best practices in waqf management and development.
The journal is committed to promoting the transformation of waqf from a traditional social worship instrument to a productive, inclusive, and equitable instrument for sustainable development. Therefore, this journal opens up space for waqf studies in a contemporary context, including productive waqf, cash waqf, digital waqf, corporate waqf, and waqf for strengthening the education, health, and economic sectors, as well as community empowerment.
Specifically, the journal also examines the dynamics of waqf regulation and governance in Muslim and non-Muslim countries, the role of nadzir institutions, innovations in waqf asset management, and the integration of waqf with the Islamic financial system and national development policies. With a rigorous scientific approach and high standards of publication ethics, this journal is expected to contribute significantly to the development of waqf science and practice at the national and global levels.
